On Friday Ms Hood came in with a very large box. We were all intrigued. Ms Hood talked to us about the coding project that the Year 7/8's are part of. We will be learning how to create a code to programme an electrical circuit. Today we went back to basics and created an electrical circuit.
Welcome to Hoiho's Class blog at St Paul's School in Richmond, Nelson. We are an enthusiastic group of Year 7 and 8 students who love learning. Our teacher is Ms Dodd. Enjoy sharing our journey. We welcome your comments.

Estuary Walk with Richard de Hamel
Last Thursday we visited the estuary with Richard de Hamel from Otago University. We found out about the history of the estuary, the impacts on the estuary, how early Maori fished the estuary. We also undertook observations and acted like scientists collecting data and using a metre square. Of course we also had a bit of fun in the mud!
Christian Leaders Visit to Motueka
On Friday we had a wonderful opportunity to meet with other children from Catholic schools from throughout the top of the south. We spent the day learning about the opportunities we can make for being christian leaders in our school. We also visited the church and learnt about the different parts and areas. We would like to thank St Peter Chanel School for their wonderful hospitality. They even have chickens!

Visit to Brook Waimarama Sanctuary
On Thursday we were very privileged to visit the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary and learn all about the fantastic work that is happening there. Rick showed us the predator fence and talked to us about the history and the future focus of the sanctuary. After lunch Mel from the council taught us how to test the water for clarity and flow. A special thank you to our parent helpers who came along for the day.
